Declaration on accessibility

We are actively committed to digital accessibility and strive to make our website accessible in accordance with the applicable legal requirements.

In doing so, we are guided in particular by:

  • § 13 Absatz 3 des Landesbehindertengleichstellungsgesetzes (LBGG), which obliges public bodies to make their digital offerings accessible, as well as
  • EU Directive 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act), which regulates the accessibility requirements for certain products and services at European level.

Our aim is to provide people with disabilities with equal access to the information and functions of our website. We regularly check the accessibility of our content and make improvements where this is technically and organizationally possible.

Barriers that still exist:

Despite our efforts, the following aspects of our website are not yet fully accessible:

  • Some PDF documents do not yet meet the requirements for accessible documents.
  • The keyboard operability of individual interactive elements is currently limited.
  • Subtitles or transcriptions for embedded videos are missing in some cases.
  • These issues are already being addressed and will be gradually improved.
  • Screen readers cannot be used to their full extent in some areas.
  • Page content is not yet available in plain language.

Measures already implemented:

The following measures to improve accessibility have already been successfully implemented:

  • High-contrast text and sufficiently large font sizes for better readability.
  • Basic navigation functions are accessible via the keyboard.
  • Structured page layout with semantic HTML for screen readers.
  • Integration of a feedback contact form for reporting barriers.
  • Responsive design for all screen formats.
  • There is a sitemap and search function.
  • An accessibility module that is quick and easy to access and offers the following functionalities:
    • Three levels to adjust text size.
    • Hiding of decorative images.
    • Display of alternative texts instead of images.
